As of right now, the scopes necessary to access Payroll Compensation are available to Gold and Platinum partners only. For the rest of the Payroll APIs, access to this data is currenrtly restricted to approved partners only. To request access, open a support ticket.
No. Currently the Payroll APIs are not availale in sandbox/playground/dev environment. As such, to test the Payroll APIs, you must use production keys.
Within the Payslip object per employee you will see both the employee and employer contributions. This is set at the employee level, not generally at the company or employeer level, to allow for different contribution levels.
Not currently. We expose type for other elements within payroll but do not show a need for this information based on what our third-party partners are trying to accomplish.
