Intuit Developer Transforms at QuickBooks Connect, Launches New Developer Experience

Almost a year ago, I joined Intuit to lead our partner platform and was hugely impressed by both the capabilities of the platform as well as the team who serves developers as customers. However, it was clear that there was even more we could do to make it easier for developers to get started on our platform.

Last week at QuickBooks Connect, we announced a new name – Intuit Developer – and launched a new developer experience. To those of you familiar with our platform, we believe you’ll be wowed by the changes. To those of you getting your first look at our offering, we think you’ll be impressed by the simple getting started process. Either way, we look forward to your feedback.

We unveiled this new developer experience in front of hundreds of developers last week and the reaction was incredibly positive. Tuesday night, at the end of the QuickBooks Connect Hackathon, 45 teams pitched their applications in front of an esteemed panel of judges. On Wednesday, we got multiple rounds of applause as we demonstrated our new developer sandboxes, sample apps, and API documentation. The energy was contagious.

Why do we make such big investments in our developer experience? To allow you to innovate and solve the needs of small businesses and accountants. The average small business uses 18 different applications. Wouldn’t it be simpler if those applications integrated with QuickBooks? Wouldn’t it be smarter if an application existed that automated manual tasks and helped make accounting invisible? This is your chance to innovate and expand the power of QuickBooks. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Thanks for joining us on this journey!
