Developer Sessions at QuickBooks Connect

Intuit’s 5th annual QuickBooks Connect conference is coming up next week! We’re looking forward to seeing the almost 100 app partners who are sponsoring the show and networking with all of you. We’ve got a great line up of speakers and breakouts specifically for developers that you won’t want to miss.  If you’re headed to the conference, be sure to look for these sessions in your QuickBooks Connect mobile app (available in the App Store and Google Play) and reserve your spot.

Developer Keynote

  • Intuit Developer Keynote: Featuring Fireside Chat with Matt Rissell  Alex Barnett, leader of the Intuit Developer Group, will talk about our latest line up of developer tools and resources, those newly released and on the roadmap. He’ll also be joined by Matt Rissell, Intuit VP and founder of TSheets, in conversation to explore the successful TSheets journey.  Join us at this session Tuesday morning at 11am, right after the morning’s main stage event.

Technical Session

  •  If you’re a developer, you don’t want to miss Building Innovative Apps with the QuickBooks API at 2:50pm on Tuesday. This session is a packed with practical tips about using our V3 APIs as well as a primer on GraphQL, which you’ll need to use our V4 APIs. It also includes practical demos of innovations in conversational UI and artificial intelligence. This invaluable session will be led by Intuit engineers Diana De Rose and Peter Lavelle, with special guest appearances by Isha Shah from the QuickBooks Online team and Reg Ouellette from chata.ai.

Marketing Sessions

If you’ve built a great small business Saas app and want to learn how to get it in front of the right customers and grow your business, be sure to join us at these sessions:

  • The interactive workshop Connecting Your App to the Right Customers will share insights into how small business owners search for apps in the context of jobs that they want to get done. We’ll arm you with insights about how customers navigate the marketplace to find the ‘right for me’ apps. But that’s not all – we’ll also demystify the marketing funnel and equip you with an arsenal of tips and tricks to bolster your customer acquisition strategy without a big marketing budget. This session will be led by Karen Hartsell and Preeth Madhusudhanan from the Intuit Developer team, with marketing expert Jon Busby from Twogether Creative. Look for this session on Tuesday at 1:30pm.
  • Critical Insights: What Do Accountants and Investors Want from Your App? is a panel discussion that will provide invaluable insights into how accountants select and recommend apps for their small business clients. You’ll get advice on how you can work with accountants to get your app noticed. In addition, you’ll learn how investors evaluate Saas app businesses, as well as how Intuit measures the effectiveness of QuickBooks app integrations.  The panel, moderated by Annie Terry from the Intuit Developer team, includes accountant influencer Heather Satterley, Megan Rabin from Lighter Capital and Ketaki Gupta from Intuit. Don’t miss it on Tuesday at 2:50pm.

Main stage speakers include Alex Rodriguez, Mindy Kaling, Amy Purdy, and Intuit CEO Brad Smith and Sasan Goodarzi, EVP and GM for Small Business at Intuit.  Meet 1:1 with Intuit Developer engineers at Open Office Hours.
